Only glyph-level OCR artifacts that all three scans show to be artifacts (e.g. OCR रद्वव for रद्गव, श्व for श्च) have been normalised; every substantive reading is as scanned, and the two places where the scans genuinely differ are flagged in identification_notes. The final clause, Utpala's gloss on BS 97.5, is NOT in vol. 1 — it is quoted from A.V. Tripathi's part II, archive.org item zund-brihat-samhita-part-2-vivriti-bhattotpala-by-varah, whose scan reads अजपादोऽजेकपात् पूर्वभद्रपदाथाः (जे for जै, थाः for याः).

Samāsa-saṃhitā: 'The vīthī named Nāgā is Svātī, Bharaṇī and Kṛttikā; the triads from Svāyambhuva (Rohiṇī) are the Gaja-vīthī, the Airāvatī and the Vṛṣabhā. The four beginning with Ekapāda are the Gauḥ; the triad from Śravaṇa is the Jāradgavī; the triad from Maitra is the Mṛgā; the Ajā is Hasta, Citrā and Viśākhā; the two Āṣāḍhās are the Dahanā. The first three are the northern vīthīs and are in order auspicious; the middle three are middling; the southern three, those beginning with Mṛgā, are evil.' Kāśyapa: 'The Aja-vīthī begins with Viṣṇubha (Śravaṇa), and the Dahanā, beginning with Ajā, is so remembered.' Two short forms of AJA EKAPĀD, the one-footed goat-deity who is the regent of PŪRVA-BHĀDRAPADĀ, used as the asterism's own name in two texts quoted by Utpala and nowhere else in the database. (1) Samāsa-saṃhitā (Varāhamihira's lost epitome): 'ekapadādi-catuṣkaṃ gauḥ' — the Go-vīthī is the four beginning with Ekapāda; since Varāhamihira's own Go-vīthī at BS 9.2 is Pūrva-Bhādrapadā, Uttara-Bhādrapadā, Revatī, Aśvinī, Ekapāda = Pūrva-Bhādrapadā. (2) Kāśyapa: 'ajavīthī viṣṇubhādyā ajādyā tu dahanā smṛtā' — Dahanā begins with Ajā; counting Kāśyapa's triads from Aśvinī, the twenty-fifth asterism is Pūrva-Bhādrapadā. Utpala clinches it in his gloss on the deity list, BS 97.5: 'ajapādo ’jaikapāt pūrva-bhadrapadāyāḥ'. Modern star follows the database's 'purva-bhadrapada' entry.
