ज्येष्ठघ्न्यां जातो विचृतोर्यमस्य मूलबर्हणात्परि पाह्येनम् ।
अत्येनं नेषद्दुरितानि विश्वा दीर्घायुत्वाय शतशारदाय ॥२॥

'The Uprooter' / 'root-wrencher' — an archaic name for Mūla, distinguished from Vicṛtau in the same verse: Macdonell & Keith, Vedic Index (1912) i.416 treat 'Vicṛtau', 'Mula' and 'Mulabarhani' as three names for the same region, with Vicṛtau denoting the two sting-stars specifically and Mūla/Mūlabarhaṇī the tail as a whole. The name also occurs at AV 6.112.1 and AV 12.5.33, and stands in the Mūla slot of the Taittirīya Brāhmaṇa 1.5.1 nakshatra list.
