'Pavana is Svātī. Yāmya is Bharaṇī. Anala is Kṛttikā. These asterisms are the Nāga-vīthī. "Three triads from Paitāmaha": Paitāmaha is Rohiṇī; beginning from it, three vīthīs of three asterisms each are formed, namely: Rohiṇī, Mṛgaśiras, Ārdrā — the Gaja-vīthī; Punarvasu, Tiṣya, Āśleṣā — the Airāvatī; Maghā, Pūrva-Phalgunī, Uttara-Phalgunī — the Vṛṣabhā. "In the Go-vīthī": Aśvinī, Pauṣṇa (which is Revatī), and the two Bhadrapadās, Pūrva-Bhādrapadā and Uttara-Bhādrapadā — these four asterisms are the Go-vīthī.' 'That of Yama' = BHARAṆĪ, whose regent is Yama. Twice in ch. 9: Utpala's gloss on BS 9.2 'yāmyaṃ bharaṇī', and his gloss on BS 9.6 'yāmyā bharaṇī tad-ādiko nava-nakṣatrānta uttaro mārgo nigaditaḥ' — the northern mārga is the nine asterisms from Bharaṇī. Parāśara's Nāga-vīthī list uses it too. Modern star follows the database's 'bharani' entry. CAUTION: yāmya elsewhere in the same chapter is simply the adjective 'southern' (yāmya-mārga); only the two glosses cited here use it as an asterism-name.
